Seven Spanish universities are among the world's top 100 young campus, according to the ranking produced annually by the British publication Times Higher Education (THE). Spain is also the fourth largest, behind the United Kingdom, Australia and the U.S., with more campuses in the top 100. Pompeu Fabra University, created in 1990 in Barcelona, ranked 13th.
Apart from the Pompeu Fabra, appear in the top 100 the Autonomous University of Barcelona (ranked 23), the Autonomous University of Madrid (58), Rovira i Virgili University in Tarragona (66), the University of Vigo (76 ), the Polytechnic University of Valencia (77) and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (95).
